By Bekithemba Ndebele

Speaking on a media briefing, Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba announced that Steven Anderson, the anti-gay pastor has been banned to enter South Africa.

The “kill-the- gays” United States pastor, Steven Anderson, has been prohibited from entering South Africa on his “soul- winning mission”.

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba made the annoucement on Tuesday that the Immigration Act of 2002 prohibited admission of foreigners likely to promote hate speech. Thus applicable to the United States’ pastor and associates.

“Mr Steven Anderson and members
and/or associates of his church are
prohibited from entering the Republic
of South Africa. ”

He further added that “this prohibition will be implemented in terms of Section 29 of the Immigration Act,”

Undesirable persons are barred from
travelling to South Africa for periods
determined by the department.

Meanwhile, Anderson has reacted to his ban from entering the country, saying he feels sorry for people who are living in South Africa.

In a brief statement posted on Facebook this afternoon, Anderson quoted Bible scripture and said he is glad his church can still visit Botswana.
