Mzansi’s female celebs nominated for African Women Awards

By Relebogile Sethole

With Women’s Month upon us, five of our female celebrities have been shortlisted in several categories under entertainment and arts section at African Women awards.

The awards are aimed to appreciate women who are successful in Africa and bringing change and peace in their nations.

The nominees include businesswoman Basetsana Kumalo and actress Connie Ferguson who are both nominated in the Living Legend Award category, Pearl Thusi has been nominated in the Media Excellence Awards, Nomzamo Mbatha made it into the Promising Personality Awards category and Terry Pheto in the Star Power Award.

Four of the five entertainment and arts categories feature South African women.

What is also great is that these  awards have nominated five local women in the business categories, while three have been recognised for their efforts in the community and politics.

The winners will be announced on the 3rd of December and and a venue is still to be announced.
