By Bekithemba Ndebele

The Economic Freedom Fighters have announced their decision in regards  to the coalition that they will not form any coalition governments with any political party.

Hence, the EFF has stated that they will vote for the Democratic Alliance (DA) and  IFP in KwaZulu-Natal against the African National Congress (ANC). The EFF said it will vote for DA in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Nelson Mandela Bay and Ekurhuleni, though it has rejected coalition with DA.

Speaking at an Media Briefing to announce their coalition decision, EFF leader Julius Malema said “The ANC is a corrupt organisation which subscribes to the kleptocracy.”

This means that the DA mayoral candidates can be sworn in but other issues will be decided on an ad-hoc basis.

He also added that the EFF would exert its influence in municipalities through the budgets and not through coalitions. His party is not going to get into power through short-cuts, they don’t want position.

Malema said the ANC took “collective responsibility” and did not want to recall its president‚ and was “wishy washy” about the EFF’s preconditions for a coalition — which included land nationalization‚ free education‚ no e-tolls‚ a probe of the Guptas and no nuclear deal with the Russians.

Meaniwhile, Malema said joining hands with DA was much better than with the ANC as they have advocated the removal of President Jacob Zuma.

“DA must know that we are not sleeping together. The DA is a better devil…The ANC is extremely arrogant‚” said Malema.
