Manchester City’s world-class striker Sergio Aguero catapulted his team to an impressive 5-0 victory over Romanian club Steaua Bucharest away from home in last night’s UEFA Champions League first leg play-off match.

Even though the Argentinian striker failed to convert two penalties within 20 minutes of the first half, his team-mate David Silva scored to lead 1-0 until Sergio Aguero scored before half-time approached to make it 2-0.

In the second half, Nolito had also gotten himself in the mood to score more goals for The Sky Blues until Aguero decided to score two more goals to his tally for him to get his hat-trick of the game.

While in the other match, Ajax Amsterdam were held to a 1-1 draw against Russia’s FC Rostov at the Amsterdam Arena in The Netherlands on Tuesday night. The four-time European champions conceded first when FC Rostov forward Christian Noboa gave his side the lead only until Ajax captain Davy Klaasen equalized for his side when he converted the penalty.

In other UEFA Champions League 1st leg play-off matches, Danish club FC Copenhagen beat Cyprus side APOEL Nicosia by 1-0, the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Austrian side FC Salzburg while German side Borrusia Monchengladbach were victorious in their first leg play-off match when they beat Swiss Club Young Boys away from home at a score of three goals to one (3-1).
