The Paralympic Oscar Pistorius speak out on the interview, with investigative journalist, Mark Williams-Thomas, for the first time in his first television interview about the night he shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013.
On 11-12 September 2014 the High Court of South Africa in Pretoria, Judge Thokozile Masipa delivered a verdict that Oscar Pistorius was not guilty of murder , but guilty of the culpable homicide of Steenkamp and reckless endangerment with a firearm at a restaurant.
On 21 October 2014, Pistorius
received a prison sentence of a maximum of five years for culpable homicide and a concurrent three-year suspended prison sentence for the separate reckless endangerment conviction.
However, The Supreme Court of Appeal, Judge Eric Leach overturned the previous charge of culpable homicide on the bases that Pistorius should have foreseen the deadly impact his four bullets would have had in a small cubic bathroom.
Speaking in the documentary, Oscar Pistorius gives his account of what happened the night he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva.
He also talks about his relationship with Reeva, the allegations of his previous abusive behaviour towards her and also his previous use of firearms.
Meanwhile, the Oscar Pistorius murder sentencing is reserved by the High Court Judge Masipa.
