Just when you thought online banking and banking apps on mobile phones were enough, ABSA kicks off a new way to bank through social media with ChatBanking.

Just when you thought online banking and banking apps on mobile phones were enough, ABSA kicks off a new way to bank through social media with ChatBanking.

ABSA, one of the the few leading banks in South Africa announced on Thursday that their clients will now enjoy to tweet, and also bank at once, with #ChatBanking.

ABSA bankers will be able by airtime and data, also check their balance from social media app, Twitter. ABSA does not want its clients to miss on trends, instead while you are enjoying the trends, you will have your banking access at your convenience.

How will ABSA’s ChatBanking work?

These steps are from ABSA’s official website:

Step 1: Logon to online banking, click on Settings from the Express tab and add your profile

Step 2: Logon to Twitter and follow @AbsaChatBanking

Step 3: Send a private message (DM) to @AbsaChatBanking and simply say “hi”
