‘Queen B’ slays in Nigerian design

By Relebogile Sethole

Bonang Matheba was in Nigeria a few weeks ago to collaborate with Nigerian designer, Toju Foyeh. With her passion and strong entertainment brand, Matheba spoke about her newest fashion collection and desire to conquer the African continent.

She said: “I fell in love with my image and then created a brand around it. Fashion is a language we all understand and if you are going to conquer the African continent and you are not going to do it through music or football, why not do it through fashion?”

Foyeh was inspired by Matheba’s work that he wanted nobody else to be a part of this collection but her.

‘Queen B’ has been a household name for years but her middle name now has changed to “Adebimpe”  as noticed on Instagram.

She shared the story of how she inherited this Yoruba name: “It’s a Nigerian name that a friend gave me. It basically means the crown is complete. Everyone at home calls me Queen B – the queen of the entertainment industry. So it’s a perfect fit.”

  4. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme with this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s quite hard to obtain that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance.

I must say that you’ve done a superb job using this. Additionally,
the blog loads very quick for me personally on Firefox.

    Outstanding Blog!
