They are the world’s most talked about couple, global icons, role-models, trendsetters. Their an epitome of success, feared by most and loved by many. Beyonce and Jay-Z have been married for 8 years, and dated for a long time before then. They’ve had a fairly happy marriage, being blessed with Blue Ivy, their daughter.
But as life would have it, even a powerhouse like Beyonce is not immune to pain, betrayal and chaos.
Tabloids have flooded rumours of Jay-Z’s infidelity since 2014, now she’s released a visual album bearing her soul and publicly slamming her husband, Hov.
Beyonce is sick and tired. The king has managed to call out Jay-Z and have him happily feature in her ‘video’ all at the same time, nothing is worse than a girl with a broken heart. On the feature film, Lemonade, she sings about ‘Anger’ and ‘Intuition’, Bey talks to Jay-Z directly, laying it down for him. “You remind me of my father, a magician, able to exist in two places at once.” she says.
Although Beyonce is always particularly mum about the intimate details of their relationship, she is no stranger to revealing herself in her music. Like back in 2013, on the track Mine fearuring Drake, she chose to express herself through lyrics: “Been having conversations about break ups and separations. I’m not feeling myself since the baby. Are we gonna even make it?”
The release of ‘Lemonade’ (album/film), had people speculating if the couple are headed for splitsville despite ‘Forgiveness’ segment of the film, which suggests that Bey has forgiven the rapper for his cheating ways.
Beyonce released Lemonade on Tidal, Jay-Z’s streaming service, as if to reassure us about the reconciliation.
We sure hope Jay-Z has heard the message. Because as Bey said, she doesn’t need his money… she has her own.
