Gospel singer Sfiso Ncwane set the record straight about his ‘Kim Kardashian’ being with him only for his money. Ncwane expressed himself to Loyiso Bala on Cliffcentral, talking about his life struggles and what it takes to make marriage work in the world of entertainment.
Sfiso and Ayanda Ncwane have been married for nine years. Blessed with two kids, the couple has survived longer than most – still going strong till today. The singing sensation spoke about how he knew Ayanda was the one for him when they first met in 2002. “The first time I saw my wife I told her, ‘I want to marry you’ and she didn’t believe me. She told me that we were too young. Even though she didn’t believe me and I didn’t have money I told her that God will provide.”
Sfiso Ncwane, a 70s baby, was born and bred in Kwazulu Natal. He started singing as a child, over coming challenges no child should have to go through. It was at this time that he also received Jesus as his saviour. In 2003, he released his third album – ‘Umkhuleko‘ which was a huge success. It was played in radio stations all over South Africa. He later released ‘Kulungile Baba‘, in 2011 – which comforted many. The track went multi-platinum in 16 months.
Ncwane recalled how he was flat broke and Ayanda still stayed and loved him. “After we got married things were so bad. It was like someone told everyone not to hire me or give me any interviews or anything. I had to stay with my mother-in-law and Ayanda in their house because it was bad.”
Sfiso Ncwane has worked with Rebecca Malope, Winnie Mashaba, the late Vuyo Mokoena, and many more artists. He’s won multiple awards, proving that he too deserves to be at the top with the best.
Surely people will now stop questioning Ayanda’s motives as Ncwane’s wife. Although previously bashed by the media for refusing to provide for his mother, the couple has come a long way.
